Mission
and Program Description:
This program prepares individuals to perform
the duties of special assistants for business executives and top
management. It includes instruction in business communications,
public relations, scheduling and travel management, conference
and meeting recording, report preparation, office equipment and
procedures, office supervisory skills, professional standards,
and legal requirements.

Note: Transferable General Education Courses needed to meet the requirements for the AAS are offered through a collaborative agreement with South Louisiana Community College (SLCC).
The objectives of the Office Systems Technology program are
to provide knowledge and skills training that will enable
students to:
- Acquire job seeking skills necessary for employment in
the field.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of program terminology.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the nature, purpose, and
principles of accounting for a service, retail and
merchandise enterprises.
- Compose and produce mailable business documents and
other written communications.
- Demonstrate knowledge and perform keyboarding,
spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in Desktop Publishing.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in machine
transcriptions.
- Demonstrate and apply business English and math
principles.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge in office procedures and
total quality management.
- Develop communication skills, self-esteem, professional
appearance, and resume writing.
- Gain competencies necessary for AAS transferable
Education course completion in English, Math, Speech,
Psychology, and Physical Science.

An application or re-application
fee and a testing fee per component are charged for each Application
for Admission submitted.
Tuition is paid by the semester.

The college accepts cash, personal
and company checks, MasterCard or Visa for all fees. A percentage
of tuition and fees are refundable up to the tenth day of instruction.
No refund will be made after the tenth day.
