Mission
and Program Description:
The mission of this program is to prepare students for employment
in private and large group physician's offices, clinics,
hospitals, medical records, laboratories and/ or insurance
companies. Supervised/preceptor clinical activities are
included. Prior to clinical, the student must present CPR
card for Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers.
Upon completion of this competency-based
program, students are eligible to take the National
Certification exam from the National Association for Health
Professionals.

The objectives of the Medical Assistant program are as
follows:
- To offer competency based curriculum in the medical
assistant field that includes basic body structure and
function; law and ethics, administrative and clinical
procedures, pharmacology, and professionalism needed for
success on the job.
- To provide skills training and clinical experiences
necessary to secure employment in the health care industry
and make immediate and future decisions regarding job
choices and educational growth.
- To provide continuing education opportunities for
employees seeking upgrade training in the medical assistant
field.
- To provide re-training opportunities for displaced
workers within the region.

COST
An application or re-application
fee and a testing fee per component are charged for each Application
for Admission submitted.
Tuition is paid by the semester.

are also required to purchase books and supplies separately. Contact
your host campus for a complete projected cost of this program.
The college accepts cash, personal
and company checks, MasterCard or Visa for all fees. A percentage
of tuition and fees are refundable up to the tenth day of instruction.
No refund will be made after the tenth day.
