Mission
and Program Description:
The purpose of this program is to
prepare individuals for employment as professional
tractor-trailer drivers. The program is a short-term training
course designed to prepare students to enter the truck driving
industry. The program content includes instruction in operating
diesel powered tractor trailer rigs, identifying common vehicle
components, defensive driving skills, actual driving on rural,
urban and interstate highways, handling cargo, backing and
maneuvering tractor trailers, documentation and verification of
loads, logging and the performance of vehicle inspections.

The objectives of the Commercial Vehicle Operations program
are to:
- Provide the opportunity to learn the skills,
competencies, and proficiencies which will prepare students
for employment
- Prepare students to compete successfully in the labor
market
- Develop work habits, personality traits, and attitudes
that are essential to success in the field.
- Provide special educational needs on an individual
basis.
- Emphasize safety procedures and defensive driving
techniques.

An application or re-application
fee and a testing fee per component are charged for each Application
for Admission submitted.
Tuition is paid by the semester.

are also required to purchase books and supplies separately. Contact
your host campus for a complete projected cost of this program.
The college accepts cash, personal
and company checks, MasterCard or Visa for all fees. A percentage
of tuition and fees are refundable up to the tenth day of instruction.
No refund will be made after the tenth day.
